What do I need to know about technology integration before I become a teacher?

I think that the main thing that I need to learn about technology before I become a teacher is what my options are. As of now I have very few ideas on how to incorporate technology into an art class to optimize the student's experiences. Once I learn what some of my options are I need to learn how to incorporate my lesson plan goals with that available technology. I also need to learn about what type of methods dealing with technology have been proved successful so that students actually learn from the experience. There are a lot things that I do not know how to do, some of these things include making spread sheets, setting up a class room, creating lesson plans, or using a smart board.

What do I know and feel about integrating technology in the classroom?

I'm still not quite sure how I feel about integrating technology in the classroom. I know that computers are a great tool but when I think about using technology in an art class I'm not quite sure what all it could be used for. In my past art classes in high school we did not use very much technology during the course. We occasionally used the web to browse for ideas, used copy machines to adjust sizes of images, and took pictures with a digital camera. I hate to say it, but I have very minimal computer knowledge and most of the time get help from my little brother. I want to learn how to incorporate more technology into an art class to make it more interesting and create opportunities that I did not experience. I know that technology is always growing and that I need to learn how to take advantage of that as a teacher for a well-rounded class.
